Denali BEF Carbon Offsets’ Tour Green program is specifically designed for offsetting the carbon dioxide emissions from tourism activities and their related travel in Alaska. Tour Green supports the funds necessary for increasing the use of non-polluting renewable sources of power.
Air and water pollution, primarily from burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas, is causing unseasonably warmer temperatures, reduction in snow-pack levels and ultimately has devastating repercussions on the Alaskan environment and wildlife.

Each partial Tour BEF Carbon Offset represents 100 kilowatt-hours of wind power entering the energy grid and creates a savings of 150 pounds of polluting air emissions from entering the atmosphere. In addition to supporting the Tour Green program, you can also offset the emissions from your home, your business and your transportation through the purchase of Denali BEF Carbon Offsets. Denali BEF Carbon Offsets is a renewable energy program of the non-profit Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) in partnership with the Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) to promote the further development of new renewable energy resources in the State of Alaska. A percent of gross revenues from the sale of Denali BEF Carbon Offsets also goes right back into renewable energy projects in Alaska.
Green Tags replace energy from traditional, polluting sources with clean, renewable and sustainable sources of power. Each BEF Carbon Offset represents the environmental attributes – principally displaced greenhouse gases and other emissions – associated with the generation of one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity. In the Tour Green program, a partial BEF Carbon Offset is used to represent a portion of your travel.
